Kirtlington clinched the Jersey Cup after coming from behind to beat Highfield Old Boys 2 - 1 at Bicester Town on Monday writes David Gregory.

It was Kirtlington's second cup triumph of the season, after already won the Mid Oxon Cup. Highfield the defending champions took the lead after half an hour when Jeremy Heslop stole in at the far post to slot home. But Kirtlington was only behind for four minutes. Pete Allison hooking home the equaliser from the edge of the box.

The decisive goal came in the first minute of the second half when Kirtlington were awarded a penalty where a Highfield player was judged to have handled. Mick O'Driscoll stepped up to hammer home the spot kick. Highfield gave it their all looking to get back into the game, but the Kirtlington defence stood firm as they held out to clinch their second trophy of the season
