Souldern carried off the Lord Jersey Cup before a crowd of over 1,000, when they defeated Hethe by four goals to one on the Bicester Town ground on Easter Monday.

Hethe were prominent in the first period of the match when they had the slope and breeze behind them, but it was Souldern who opened the scoring almost on half time, when McGarry’s shot was deflected.

The second half was a personal triumph for Clive Moggridge who completed a hat trick, something which has not occurred in this final for many seasons.
Johnson pulled one back for Hethe who lacked punch in attack.

A collection for the Oxfordshire Football Association and the Lord Jersey Benevolent Funds amounted to £22.10.

The Cup and replicas were presented by Graham Mulcock a former player and present Council member.
