The Jersey Cup final was played on the Bicester ground on Saturday, about 1,300 spectators being present. The contestants, Upper Heyford and Souldern, did not serve up a good exhibition of football. Both sides scored during the first half, M Westbury netting for Souldern in the first minute of the game, and F Scraggs equalising with a beautiful goal. Heyford had matters almost their own way in the second half, goals being scored by Draper, Golder and Ruddle, before Reeve got through for Souldern, and close on time J Brock scored a fifth for Heyford.

Result – Upper Heyford 5; Souldern 2.

The Earl of Jersey presented the trophy and medals.
